1. Who we are

This website, scandiinec.world, is an independent ferry travel information guide. The website administrator can be contacted at: 21 Highnam Business Centre, Highnam, GL2 8DN Gloucester, United Kingdom · [email protected] · 0330 188 2022.

2. Information we collect

We only collect personal information you choose to send through the contact form: your full name, email address, subject and message. Our web server also keeps standard technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and time of request) for security purposes. We do not sell tickets and never ask for payment details or identity documents.

3. Purpose of processing

We use contact form information solely to read and reply to your enquiry and to keep a record of correspondence. Server logs and a short-lived, anonymised record of your IP address are used to prevent spam and abuse (rate limiting).

4. Legal basis

We process contact form data on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (UK GDPR / EU GDPR Article 6(1)(a) and (f)). Security logging relies on our legitimate interest in keeping the website safe.

5. Data retention

Enquiry emails are kept for up to 24 months unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Rate-limiting records are deleted automatically after one hour. Server logs are kept for no longer than 30 days.

6. Email communication

Messages are delivered to our inbox by a transactional email provider. We will only reply to your enquiry and will not add you to any mailing list.

7. Data protection measures

The website is served over HTTPS, the form is validated on the server, and email service credentials are kept out of public code. Access to the inbox is restricted to the administrator.

8. Third-party services

We use Resend (a transactional email service) to deliver contact form messages, and a hosting provider for the website. Links to external websites, including the official Scandlines website, are governed by their own privacy policies.

9. International transfers

Our email provider may process data outside the UK or EEA, for example in the United States. Where this happens, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses or adequacy arrangements.

10. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to a data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

11. Privacy requests

To make a request, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.
